Frequently Asked Questions.
In early years, the ECO4 scheme targeted those living in homes with low EPC ratings and qualifying benefits, but it excluded those from the least energy-efficient households that don’t receive additional government support. The Great British Insulation Scheme will help hundreds of thousands of homeowners insulate their homes.
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) lets all UK homeowners or tenants know how much energy their home is using or losing. The EPC will provide you with a rating from A to G, with A being the best and G being the worst. Please visit check my EPC rating, and if you don’t have one you can get a new EPC certificate. Alternatively, once you apply, our online eligibility tool will let you know your EPC rating, if you have one. Find out how EPC ratings can help you plan your sustainable home.
Yes, you can typically choose your installer when receiving the ECO grants. However, it’s crucial to ensure that your chosen installer meets the eligibility criteria set forth by the scheme provider and adheres to relevant industry standards. Furthermore, please ensure that the installer is duly registered with applicable accreditation bodies and possesses the required qualifications to perform the task in a secure and efficient manner.
Once we’ve done your home survey, you might be eligible for both cavity wall and loft insulation. We’re only able to install one energy-efficient upgrade for each qualifying property. Our Qualitymark-accredited installers will help you work out the most energy-efficient upgrade for your home to help you save money on your energy bills.
The level of funding you get will depend on the measures your property is suitable for as well as other factors. In some cases, you may be asked to contribute towards the cost of the installation. ECO4 is not a grant scheme where 100% funding is guaranteed & therefore different companies or installers may provide you with different solutions & support that is available. Our colleagues will let you know before we conduct a survey known as a Retrofit Assessment if there is any chance of a contribution being required. In every application we have helped with so far, our customers have benefitted from 100% free grants.

I had heard about these grants but was a little sceptical until I saw an article in my local newspaper about this company. So I took the plunge and called them. Their surveyor came round explained everything clearly and handled all my paperwork. The wall insulation wad done by their installers LMF and they even did my attic. There was a small problem with the install which I called UK Energy Grants about but they sorted this within 24 hours. I highly recommend this company for grants.

I found this company was local and had some great reviews. They did a home energy report to show us how to save money on our rising energy bills. Everything was very professional and the result was really good. We will be using them to help us find a decent solar panel installer. Highly Recommend you get one of these reports!

Fantastic speedy services and good installers too. Highly recommended

“Going solar was a fantastic decision. I have been able to save about 70% of my monthly electricity bill cost and the investment is already paying back. "
